Aaron Shust

I first heard of Aaron Shust when his song "My Savior My God" came out a few years ago. Its first line "I am not skilled to understand, what God has willed, what God has planned" is one of those lines that just speaks to me and makes me nod my head in agreement, yet shake my head remembering all the times I try to figure God out anyways. Aaron just came out with a new album, Whispered & Shouted and I absolutely recommend it.

Not only do I like Aaron's lyrics, but I like the fact that he includes "Stories behind the songs" in his album leaflet. He shares what was going on in his life when he wrote the songs, what point he's trying to get across, and he includes Bible references with his lyrics, to show that they are based in Scripture. It helps me understand and appreciate the lyrics more, and brings more life to the songs.

My favorite song on the album is a tie between #5 "Give Me Words to Speak" and #8 "I Will Wait". Currently my favorite lyrics on the album are

I love You more than life itself
Lord, You are so good to me
I need You more with every breath
So won't You breathe some life in me?
