On the surface there might not seem to be much distinction between those two, but I think there is. Our trust needs to be rooted in God, not in the blessings He bestows upon us. In the storms of life, we trust Him, not because He will restore us to calm waters, but because He works all things to His good, He is sovereign, He is faithful, and He has a divine plan.
